Whether you love birds or love games (or both), we think you'll love Wingspan. Winner of the 2019 Kennerspiel des Jahres (German for Connoisseur Game of the Year, this is the king of board game awards), featured in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, and still hard to come by.
You are bird enthusiasts — researchers, bird watchers, ornithologists, and collectors — seeking to discover and attract the best birds to your network of wildlife preserves. These habitats focus on several key aspects of growth, like gaining food tokens via custom dice in a bird feeder dice tower, laying eggs using egg miniatures in a variety of colors, and drawing from hundreds of unique bird cards and playing them.
The winner is the player with the most points after 4 rounds, a built in feature leading to fast game play. This intuitive game is easy to learn, fun to play, and a marvel of design.
Swift Start pack is included (4 guides and 10 bird cards to help guide new players through their first game of Wingspan). We highly recommend that new players start with the Swift Start pack, which walks you through a live game to teach you how to play. The Swift Start pack is the reason we give Wingspan a Level 1 rating in our scoring system instead of Level 2 - there are some new game rules and turn styles to learn, but the Swift Start teaches you everything you need to know.
