Quick Takes: 4-12 players 40 minutes Ages 10+ Level 1 (easy to learn, easy to play, and FUN!)
Concept is a party game with word associations, where you use a series of set categories on a board to clue your teammates into your mystery word. To start, a player takes a card and chooses a word from any of the three difficulty levels shown on the card. To clue teammates into the word, the player starts identifying concepts on the game board with markers for high-level and more detailed categories. For the Eiffel Tower, the high-level concepts might be "building" and "metal" while the details might be "country" and colors "red", "blue", and "white" (the colors of the French flag, for those of you not married to Europeans!).
We love this game for groups because it never feels quite as serious as other go-to party games we love like Codenames. Concept has points and a winner, but without a time clock to usher players along, it feels more like a party activity than a competitive game.
Want to try it out? Game producer Repos Production has a sample Concept on their website for you to play! (And if you check it out, you will know where we got our Eiffel Tower example too. Busted!)
