This is a fun and cartoonish take on a train robbery. You play a stagecoach bandit who is robbing a train - in fact, all the players are stagecoach bandits robbing the same train at the same time. Pick up the most loot, stall the other bandits, and avoid the Marshal!
Colt Express is an action programming card game that consists of four rounds. Each player plays enough cards for a round at the same time, either face up or face down based on the round rules. Then play goes around the table, executing these actions in order. Very often, these actions play out in an unpredictable manner that is much more interesting than what anyone intended.
One of the ways to score points is to shoot more bullets than anyone else. You can shoot the other players, but no one dies. Bullets just clog up the hand, so it is likely that you will have less actions to play after getting shot. The Marshal can be moved around, either so you can avoid him or to sick him on other players.
The 3-D train serves as the board. Your character changes cars and hops up to the roof, just like in the movies, so the board is as functional as it is visually striking.
This game is easy to learn, teach, and play. The rulebook is two pages long!
