Quick Takes: 1-4 players 30-120 minutes Ages 12+ Level 3 (advanced, looking for a challenge)
This is a new game with damage to one side (please see picture). The game is complete, still in shrink wrap, and has never been played.
Designed by famed board game designer Uwe Rosenberg, A Feast for Odin is a worker placement game of epic, even outlandish, proportion.
As the name implies, each round you must feed your Vikings at a grand banquet in Odin's honor (by tactfully placing food items on your board). But not so fast! Before you do that, you have many other tasks to accomplish in order to earn points and fame. In case you were unaware, Vikings were essentially the European pirates of the Middle Ages, collecting and hoarding goods in the fields around their village. As a player, you must channel your inner Viking to collect the various green and blue goods tiles that fit just perfectly into the space on your board. Doing so earns you income and covers up the negative point penalties covering most of the board. Collecting isn't easy though. You will need to carefully place your Vikings each round to maximize their resource production and pillaging.
After all the feasting and hoarding concludes, the player whose possessions bear the greatest value will be declared the winner.
- Strategy - more than a roll of the dice to win this Euro game. Decision making along the way is key
- Meets the challenge - we love the mix of mechanics: one part tile laying puzzle like Uwe Rosenberg's famed Patchwork and one part worker placement like another of our favorites (also by Uwe), Agricola
